Using our investigation experience combined with crash analysis and our specialist equipment we are able to investigate and analyse heavy motor vehicle crashes using some of the most advanced and accurate methods available.
Equipment
Due to demand we have acquired a Sokkia SET5X precision laser theodolite accurate to +/- 2mm, which enables precision crash scene surveying to provide your company with the most accurate reconstruction of a crash.
Engine Management Systems Data
Technology advancements in truck engine management systems and aftermarket attachments to them over recent years have enabled detailed crash data to be downloaded.
The downloadable engines that provide sufficient data at present are restricted to Cummins, Detroit, Caterpillar and Volvo; however it is becoming more common for transport operators to add aftermarket ECM’s that record data to assist in improving efficiency and safety, these can also provide valuable data to assist in reconstructing a crash.
For several years now we have been combining crash analysis, engine download data and precision scene survey data to produce the most accurate crash reconstructions available at the present time.
The data is either overlaid on a scale scene diagram (or 3D animation) revealing detailed events leading up to and during the crash.
