How does NZCI work with insurance companies?

NZCI's investigators have the experience necessary to investigate insurance claims to verify their legitimacy, both efficiently and cost effectively.

We are also aware of the importance of risk management for both the insurers and insured's, and include risk management and any other underwriting issues in our investigations and reporting.

NZCI can operate independently, or work alongside claims teams and in-house investigators to provide assistance in our more specialised areas such as crash analysis, friction testing and forensic mapping.

General Insurance Investigations

Due to NZCI’s success in motor claims and other incidents we have been called upon by insurers to also investigate general insurance claims from small claims relating to the damage of home appliances to larger claims surrounding the theft of property from domestic or commercial properties where there is the possibility of inflated or fraudulent claims being submitted.

• We provide a 48 hour update upon receipt of the appointment and regular updates thereafter.
• Our investigations and reporting are comprehensive with our main objective to obtain clear and convincing evidence.
• This service extends to the greater Auckland area only.
• In some instances our forensic mapping and Computer Aided Design skills are able to be utilised to reconstruct an incident, proving or disproving an insured’s version of events. We have used these skills in a robbery of a liquor store claim and an accidental shooting- offshore personal injury claim.

Motor Vehicle Crash Insurance Investigations

We have vast experience in motor vehicle crash investigations for insurers from small fender benders to heavy motor vehicle crashes where the sum insured’s are in the hundred’s of thousand’s of dollars.
